Title : Safety and Health Overview

These programs are available to present as half-day sessions or 60-minutes webinars and can be combined/tailored to the needs of the Chapter.

  • Foundations of Safety LeadershipThe Foundations for Safety Leadership (FSL) training session is designed to introduce construction workers, particularly those with supervisory responsibilities, to safety leadership principles and give them the skills to be a safety leader who can help create and sustain a safe and productive jobsite.
  • Leading/Lagging Indicators: Leading and Lagging Indicators training session identifies information needed to direct your safety efforts throughout the organization.  Leading indicators are proactive, preventive, and predictive measures that provide information about the effective performance of your safety and health activities. In contrast, lagging indicators measure the occurrence and frequency of events that occurred in the past, such as the number or rate of injuries, illnesses, and fatalities.  While lagging indicators can alert you to a failure in an area of your safety and health program or to the existence of a hazard, leading indicators allow you to take preventive action to address that failure or hazard before it turns into an incident.
  • Regulatory Update: The Regulatory Update training session is to help member businesses stay up to date on changes to OSHA regulations and ANSI Standard updates.  This session is important for contractors to prepare for changes in regulations that may lead to OSHA fines and/or increased liability exposures.
  • How to Prepare for an Insurance Risk Control Assessment:  The Insurance Risk Control assessment session will provide an overview of the details needed by the insurance company and why it is important.  Leaving out important details about the implementation of your safety program can lead to lower assessment scores and costing your company big money with higher insurance premiums for Workers Compensation, General Liability, and Automobile exposures.
